GIRLHOOD by Molly Van Der Molen
This staged reading performed for two nights at the TANK to a sold out house in February of 2023: Molly Van Der Molen’s GIRLHOOD is NOT a coming-of-age story, and it’s not about spectacular girls. Instead, it’s a hot, messy, and wholesome chapter in the lives of five 15-year-old average janes who are struggling to navigate the allure of womanhood, their sexuality, their trauma, their family, and their place in the thick of it all. GIRLHOOD is sweet and savory and reminds us that it’s hard to be a 15-year-old girl.
